Festival-scale masterplanning, public-access logic, traffic-restriction studies, and fire-safety documentation for large public events in Bucharest’s most symbolic urban square
Constitution Square is one of Bucharest’s most visible and demanding event locations: a vast civic space framed by the Palace of Parliament, major boulevards, institutional buildings, public access routes, and complex emergency-access constraints.
Across concerts, projection festivals, Christmas markets, radio festivals, motorsport demonstrations, and large public gatherings, my work focused on translating creative ambition and production requirements into clear outdoor layouts, coordinated public-access logic, technical documentation, traffic-restriction plans, and fire-safety approval drawings.

Challenge
Constitution Square is not a blank open field. It is a symbolic urban space surrounded by major roads, institutions, public infrastructure, and strict operational constraints.
Each production brings a different event logic: concerts need stage focus and crowd density; iMapp requires projection visibility and public gathering areas; the Christmas Market requires long-duration public circulation and family-oriented infrastructure; radio festivals combine multiple stages, food, sponsors, and crowd flow; motorsport events extend beyond the square into traffic-restriction and public-safety planning.
The challenge is to make each temporary event feel clear and functional while preserving emergency access, public circulation, service routes, production needs, and approval requirements.
Solution
I developed layered technical plans that connected event ambition with the physical and regulatory reality of the square.
The work involved organizing the relationship between stage position, audience areas, entry points, security checks, emergency lanes, evacuation routes, backstage compounds, artist access, technical access, bars, toilets, food areas, sponsor zones, platforms, generators, and public-service infrastructure.
For large concerts and festivals, the documentation helped define how the audience enters, gathers, moves, and exits safely. For Christmas Market and iMapp formats, the focus shifted toward public circulation, attraction placement, service access, and maintaining clear emergency routes through a dense urban setup. For Red Bull F1 Racing Showrun, the work expanded into a wider urban scale, including temporary traffic restrictions and controlled movement around the event footprint.

Collaborators
The work was developed across multiple Constitution Square productions in coordination with promoters, organizers, production managers, technical suppliers, municipal requirements, local consultants, and fire-safety specialists.
Projects in this location involved collaboration with teams connected to Emagic, East European Productions / Marcel Avram, Creart, Arcub, MGSI, Red Bull Romania, Promax, Paradigma, among other production and event teams. Fire-safety approval documentation was developed in collaboration with specialized fire-safety consultants, including Alexandra Daramus / Davi Comfire where required.
For projects requiring approval documentation, my role was to help translate production requirements, public-access logic, temporary structures, traffic restrictions, evacuation routes, and emergency-access conditions into clear technical drawings that could be coordinated with consultants, authorities, and operational teams.

Outcome
The documentation helped turn Constitution Square into a flexible, repeatable event platform for some of Bucharest’s largest public productions.
Across more than a decade of projects, the work supported event coordination, audience planning, production logistics, emergency access, traffic restrictions, fire-safety approval workflows, and the transformation of a symbolic civic space into temporary environments for concerts, festivals, projection shows, markets, motorsport demonstrations, and public gatherings.
